FAQ

Membership, skill levels, equipment, events and more!

Do I need to be a member to play?

Non-members can come to many of our events at the standard rate. Membership ($10 - general / $20 - prime) unlocks the club card, sponsor discounts, WhatsApp community access, early hitting-session access, exclusive event access and member pricing. Prime membership includes two beginner lessons for the year.

What skill level should I sign up as?

Use Tennis Canada's self-rating guide. Prime beginner lessons require a self-reported 2.0 or lower. Mixed hitting sessions welcome a wider range. If you are unsure, rate yourself once and ask an exec at the session.

What should I bring to the hitting sessions?

Bring your own racket unless an event listing says otherwise. The club provides balls at hitting sessions and beginner lessons. Court shoes are recommended. Bring water and weather layers for outdoor sessions.

Can I bring a guest?

Guests are welcome at events that list a non-member price. Guest spots follow the same registration form and capacity as everyone else. Private court bookings are not run through the club.

Where do you play?

It depends on the event: UBC Tennis Centre / Bubble, Totem Park/Place Vanier and off-campus spots such as Kerrisdale outdoor courts or Dunbar Community Centre. Always check the latest information through our channels for the address.

What if it rains or a session is full?

Outdoor rainouts updates are posted on Instagram and in the member WhatsApp channel. Upcoming events on this site show live registration status (Open, Full, Closed).

How do I reach the exec team?
